Primary Function:
Draft and model the VDC group’s projects and needs on a daily basis as well as coordinate between Modelers, Management, Project Management, Shop and Field. Help drive the vision –
Create a people-first culture where we love what we do and execute at the highest level.
Responsibilities and qualifications are to include but not limited to the items listed below.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform design modeling according to established best practices and procedures.
- Utilizing 3D parametric modeling software(s) to generate a set of drawings and bill of materials for release.
- Aid in development and implementation of quick access part and assembly libraries for use in workflow from estimating to fabrication thru field.
- Provide exports of part models to assist with CNC programing for fabrication implementation.
- Act as point person for process and production related issues from respective groups i.e., project management, shop fabrication, and field team.
- Partake in Glazing industry training and continue development of modeling techniques.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Positive Contributor to Vision and Core Values
- Candidate must have the appropriate knowledge using parametric modeling softwareespecially Autodesk Inventor.
- Must possess a strong work-ethic
- Ability to problem-solve, attention to detail, and work well with others.
- MS office and technical skills required.
- Associates Degree (or in the process of achieving) in CADD, Engineering, Mechanical or Architectural Design desired.
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Good understanding of document archiving in the Vault Professional software and current existing platforms.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production / schedule driven department.
